Search Engine Optimization
“SEO” is a term that inhabits the unseen veins of cyberspace, occasionally surfacing and inspiring a profound sense of confusion and curiosity. If you’ve ever heard of it before, chances are you’ve spent some time wondering whether or not it’s something worth looking into. Thus, we figured it might be a good idea to discuss the topic briefly.
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. It is a process of organizing a website so that search engines better understand it. In the past, having good, solid SEO was a golden standard in the web design industry. However, technology has improved to the point where search engines like Google do much of the work for you.
That said, SEO is not without its uses. Google can take a dozen looks at your site and decide what it’s about and when and where to list it, but only you really know the audience you want to attract. Think of SEO as a way to help highlight certain aspects of your website that you see as most important. And although it might not be worth paying a professional company to do it for you, SEO is certainly a valuable thing to look into from time to time as your website content continues to evolve.
