Rob Plugge

Developer

Rob grew up in La Vista, Nebraska. After graduating high school, he attended Omaha Code School, where he was trained in web development. After completing the school’s four month “development boot camp” program, he applied for a developer position at Control Yours.

Now working in our office as one of our primary developers, Rob does much of the technical work that keeps our clients’ websites running beautifully and smoothly. He enjoys drinking coffee (like a true web developer), sleeping, and tracking down his cat, Xena, who tends to avoid social interaction at all costs.

Who or what is the biggest inspiration to your job?

Working directly with people on something that is important to them is pretty satisfying. I do my part in helping their vision become a reality.

What’s the first thing gone from the Control Yours fridge or snack cupboard? Is it your fault?

Teas. And I certainly don’t help the situation :D

Who ends up making coffee the most in the office?

Either Josh or David I think, but I'm not too sure. I don't drink it very often, it's some bold coffee.

What would your life be like without graphic designers?

It’d be impossible. I don’t have an eye for design at all, so I rely on them entirely for the vision for the project. I just turn mockups into websites.

Biggest pet peeve?

Wasting time due to poor communication. It’s frustrating for everyone involved.

What would you do with a million dollars?

I’d be taking a short break from work, that's for sure, haha. Hopefully I'd do what I can to make a difference and enjoy life a little more.

Work playlist.

I like to listen to really upbeat catchy music when working. I know some people like relaxing music to work to, but that always puts me to sleep.

Pretend it’s 1980 and the personal computer hasn’t been invented yet. What would you do with your free time?

That’s a good question. I think I’d read a lot more.

If your cats could talk, what would their nickname for you be?

Probably something relating to how lazy I can be. Both my cats and I have to navigate around the mess that is my apartment.
