Why Control Yours?

David Lano

If there’s one thing we know, it’s that figuring out how to create a digital version of your company on the web is a unique and personal thing.

Our clients are passionate about what they do and who they are. So when it comes to deciding who to trust with creating and maintaining your website, the number of factors to consider can feel overwhelming.

Can I do it myself?
Do I need a custom design?
How much is it all going to cost?
When I need support for a problem, am I going to be left on hold listening to elevator music for hours?
Will there be a real person to answer my questions?

We get that you don’t want to trust just anyone with this job. Because your online self is so critically important to how customers judge your company, you might be wondering if building and managing your own website is the way to go. After all, there are loads of “drag and drop,” DIY website templates out there to choose from, right?

Like I said, it’s ultimately a really personal choice. And obviously, I might be a little biased. ?

But I know from years of helping clients work through decisions and projects that delegation and collaboration are empowering for business owners.
Delegating a big project – like the design and management of your website – to a professional – frees you up to focus on other things.

Like your customers, for example.

Or creating a new product.

Or time with your family – work/life balance is important!

We know you have other stuff going on and tinkering with your website probably isn’t on the top of your list.

So – maybe you’ve been reading our blog or getting our emails for a while and now you’re wondering if it’s time to jump in.

We’ve been building and managing websites for a long time now and every conversation with a new client starts with questions. And those questions are how we get to know you and your company – they’re the critical first step to making sure we deliver exactly what you need – nothing more, nothing less!

So we thought it might be helpful to answer some of the most frequently asked questions that come up when we’re first getting to know a new client.

Ready? Here we go!

Question: I’m not even sure I need a whole new website. Can I just get some help with my existing one?

Answer: Yes! Absolutely.

While we specialize in building custom websites, we modernize and refresh existing ones as well! Think of it as a mini-makeover for your website. It’s totally possible that all you need is a little design update here and a little mobile-friendly tweak there and you’ll be good to go.

Question: When something goes wrong, I’m not sure I can fix it myself – can I count on you guys to provide support when I need it? ?

Answer: Yes! We know that websites can be tricky. That’s why we’re here!

Unlike the generic customer service experience you might get from a DIY website company, we’re personally invested in making sure that we give you the website you want and that it keeps working the way you need it to.

What we offer is a customizable monthly membership plan. We want tech support to be as low drama as possible – no waiting on hold for hours, no robot “service reps.” ?

Being a member means that we take care of all the “techie stuff” and you get to focus on what you do best!

Question: I really like my website, but I’m stuck when it comes to what to put on it and where everything should go. Do you provide help with content? Maybe just a friendly grammar wizard I could borrow?

Answer: Yes! We have a stellar team of freelance writers and copy editors who wear the “Word Nerd” badge with pride! ? If writing and organizing content feels overwhelming and you’re not even sure where to start, we’d love to help you sort it out. Bonus: read what we’ve written about content here and here!

Question: How can I be sure that I’m putting my company’s image into the right hands?

Answer: Wow, this is such a great question to be asking! Because ultimately, this is really what it’s all about – trust.

We know it’s asking a lot of any business owner to hand over their company’s public image to a web designer. Trust is critically important to us and that responsibility is something we don’t take lightly.

Control Yours has been building that trust with our clients for over a decade. I’m all about meeting in person (if possible), so that new clients can get a feel for what we’re like in real life. But if you’re not quite there yet, definitely check out our portfolio and read what our clients have to say about our work. And if you still have questions for me, I’d love to meet in person or chat by phone!

Question: How much is it all going to cost? ?

Answer: Yep, this is another great question! Obviously, it depends on the scale of your project and your specific needs. But because we’re committed to making what we do as accessible as possible, we offer a broad range of services at a variety of price points.

Maybe a brand-new website isn’t doable for you right now, but would a quick refresh give your existing site that modern, updated look you’re after? Maybe you just need some updated content? Or a new logo?

Maybe all you need is tech support you can count on – in that case, you can keep your existing site and just sign up for our membership program!

We want what we do to work for your budget and we’d be happy to sit down with you and figure out the best fit.

Still got questions? ?

That’s why we’re here! We’d love to chat with you more. Send us an email or give us a call – let’s talk!
